How Do You Fold An Origami Blintz Base?
The origami blintz base, also known as the cushion fold, is a simple set of folds used as a preliminary to folding more complicated shapes. The blintz base is often used as a place to start folding box or flower shapes. Start your origami blintz base with a square sheet of origami paper, colored side down, white side up. Fold the paper in half on the diagonal, from left to right. Run your thumb or finger along the fold to crease it. Open the folded paper back up again. Fold the paper in half diagonally, this time from bottom to top. Crease this new fold. Open the folded paper back up again. Note the “plus sign” pattern of the creases you made, and how they cross in the very middle of the paper. Fold the bottom point of the paper in to the very middle, where the creases meet. Crease. This time, don’t unfold. Bring the top point down to the middle, where it should meet the bottom point. Fold and crease. Fold the left corner in, too, and crease the new fold. Fold the right corner in to th
