How Do You Format A Recordable CD Using Windows?

0

CD disks provide removable media for your applications, documents and other important files. Beginning with Windows XP, Windows operating systems have included prepackaged methods that allow you to format the media when you insert a blank CD into the drive. The process makes it easy to format the media and save your files to the disk. Insert the blank CD into your computer’s burner. The Windows operating system automatically detects the new, blank CD and starts the format process. Select “Burn files to data disc” in the autoplay window. Enter a title for the CD in the next window. This title is displayed in the Windows Explorer when you insert the CD after it’s been burned. Select a format type. There are two types of formats, Live and Mastered. Mastered is an older format that requires you to select all the files you want to burn to the CD and commit the write. Live file system is a newer format that allows you to use the CD as if it is a secondary hard drive. You save files one-by-on
