How Do You Honor Martin Luther King Jr?
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a day to honor Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. who was assassinated in 1968. He was the face and leader of the Civil Rights Movement, and an inspiration to millions, still inspiring our nation to this day. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, also known as MLKday, is celebrated around his birthday, January 15th. While it is obvious that people should respect King Jr., it can be a bit difficult to know ow to properly honor Martin Luther King Jr. exactly. Go to local community centers that will celebrate marketing Luther King Jr., and partake in any or all of the events. Listen to those who have personally knew Martin Luther King Jr., or who were affected by his actions. Continue to serve out King Jr.’s work by being involved in Civil Rights, and get involved in projects that King Jr. would have done if he were alive today.
