How Do You Install Recessed Lighting Cans?
Recessed lighting adds ambiance to any room. You can replace any ceiling light fixture when you learn how to install recessed lighting cans. Recessed lighting cans are lightweight and do not require joists to be secured. They have springs which clamp the can to the ceiling to secure the fixture in place. Turn the circuit breaker off to the light fixture that is being removed. After the circuit breaker is turned off go into the attic and disconnect the wires from the junction box to the light fixture. Remove the old light fixture from the ceiling from inside the room. Set the recessed lighting can against the ceiling where it is to be located and trace the diameter of the can with a pencil. Drill a ½-inch hole in the center of the tracing on your ceiling. Check to make sure that there will be no obstructions when cutting the hole out.
