Once you have created your chart, on the ribbon under what has now appeared, i.e. Chart Tools, you have Design, Layout and Format tabs underneath. Click on the Layout one, select the Axis Title icon and then in turn, the primary horizontal and primary vertical. If rather than axes titles you mean the actual data labels that you want to change, just double click on the labels, this switches you immediately to the Design mode under Chart Tools, click on Select Data icon, which opens the select data source window, then click on the edit button in the right pane and drag your mouse over the labels in the spread sheet that you want to appear in your chart. This puts the cell references into the box and when you say OK, your chart has the x or y labels that you want. Its how you would have gone in step 2 of chart wizard of earlier versions, onto the series tab.
