Maybe you’re an avid fan of a game and playing that game just isn’t enough–you want to do more. One great way to do more is making a machinima, the short movie-equivalent of fan fiction. Step 1 Decide what the format your machinima will be. You can make a mini-series with many episodes, a short movie or a long one. Step 2 Choose a game on which to base your machinima. An action game like Gears of War or Halo can make a good machinima. A parody or comedy machinima based on a game like the Sims could be quite amusing. Step 3 Write the script for your machinima and build a production team. The team can consist of fiends, or even people around the world who are fans of the game. Step 4 Create a schedule that will work for your production team when you make the machinima. Step 5 Record all of the voice-overs when you make a machinima.
