How Do You Make A Stitch Marker?
Stitch markers are those colorful rings used in knitting that help you remember when a round starts, or when to increase/decrease stitches. They are very easy to make, so if you want to save a bit of money, read on. • Place the first seed bead on the wire, then tie around it like you would when you start to tie your shoes, making sure that there is about 1/2 – 1 inch of wire sticking out. • Put about 30 beads on the wire. • Take the last bead, pull it higher on the wire than the rest, and start to tie it as in step 1, but instead of pulling it all the way, place a knitting needle into the loop, and pull towards the other beads. When it is down to the other beads, remove the knitting needle and tighten. • Take the two ends of the wire on each end, and twist them together multiple times, cut relatively short, and tuck the end into the seed bead next to it. • Add a charm or make it in the next step (optional).
