Are you tired of the same boring macaroni salad? If so try this Amish macaroni salad for your next picnic. It is not only tasty but downright addicting. The original recipes calls for almost a cup of sugar but trust me, using 1/4 cup is more than enough. I have also tweaked the spices a bit according to my family’s tastes and you can do the same. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Immediately drain and rinse with cold water. Place in large bowl with lid and chill for about two hours. This is a very important step when making Amish macaroni salad or any other macaroni salad because I find that if you allow the macaroni to dry out a bit in the refrigerator it wont absorb as much as the dressing so you wont end up with a dried out macaroni salad.
