How Do You Make An All Natural Room Freshener?
A victorian solution to household odors, the pomander is a quick, easy and all natural room freshener that you can enjoy without worrying about chemicals. You need an orange or if you prefer, a lemon and a package of large cloves. If you buy cloves in the bulk food section of the grocery, they cost a fraction of the same thing in the spice section. You are going to cover the fruit with a layer of cloves. You want to put the cloves approximately 1/4 inch apart. You will need a tool to make the holes in the fruit. A knitting needle will work. A meat thermometer is often easy to handle. Punch the holes in the fruit and insert the long stem of the clove into each hole. When the entire fruit is covered it is ready to hang or display. You can hang it by wrapping colorful ribbons around it or by punching a hole through one end of the fruit and running a ribbon or wire through the hole.
