How Do You Make Crock-Pot Boston Baked Beans?

Anyone who doesn’t like baked beans just can’t be American. Serves eight as a hearty side dish. Or just have them on toast for dinner. Step 1 Place beans in a pot with 6 c. water; bring to a boil and then simmer for 30 minutes. Let stand, covered, for 1 1/2 hours, or until softened. Drain. Step 2 Place beans, onion, brown sugar, molasses, ketchup, bacon, salt, dry mustard and pepper into a slow cooker. Add 1 c. of water and stir to blend. Step 3 Cover pot and cook on low heat for 10 to 12 hours (or high heat for 5 to 6 hours), stirring occasionally.
