How Do You Make Flubber With Borax?
If you have ever seen “The Absent-Minded Professor,” you may think Flubber is a magical substance that makes people jump higher. That, of course, is just in the movies. Flubber is, however, a magical substance made with borax that will entertain children for hours with its slimy texture that feels great on the hands. As a family project, making Flubber is quick and easy, using just a few household supplies, and is sure to invoke laughter from even the most solemn child. Pour 4 oz. of white glue into a medium bowl. Add a few drops of food coloring and mix well with a wooden spoon. Glitter can be added if desired. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of Mule Team Borax in 1 cup of warm water in a bowl. Stir to dissolve. You can purchase Mule Team Borax in the laundry aisle; it’s sold as a laundry booster. Pour the glue mixture into the borax solution. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon to mix completely. The mixture will thicken and create a large blob. Knead the blob by hand until it is smooth and dry.
