When you buy the sony bravia surround sound, the dvd or amp will have a panel on the back that you install the wireless set up to. A small infrared device plugs into the part you installed. The device can be wall mounted or it can use a small stand that comes with it. Once you do that, the 2 rears speakers and an electrical box go where you put the speakers. You connect the speakers to the box and another infrared device gets plugged in. Now you aim the two devices at each other. They send a signal from the amp to the rear speakers when the amp is on.
