Computer processors are like the “brains” of the computer; they process all the data from programs and other operations going on inside of the computer. Because the CPU is processing data at such a high rate, it tends to get very hot, which can cause damage to the computer and the processor itself. Check the processor temperature once in a while to see if it is running safely, which is usually any temperature below 60 degrees Celsius. Turn on your computer and wait for the boot screen to show up. The boot screen is a screen that appears a few seconds after you turn on your computer and lists all the parts in your computer in black and white. Press either “Delete” or “F1” (depending on the manufacturer of your motherboard) to go to the BIOS, which is the control panel for the parts connected to the motherboard (memory, CPU, hard drives, etc.).
