With the ignition key in the on position, use the button on the lower left dash panel or the remote fob. If the vehicle battery is dead, neither will work. You have to have a good battery in the vehicle, since it is all electric. Or, you can remove the rear seat back and crawl through and pull the emergency release on the trunk lid latch. Without a key or remote fob, you can’t even get in the car if it’s locked.
