As the economy seems to be slowly waking up from its slumber in the US, many more Foreigners are asking questions as to how they can get to the US and find a job. This was a year in US Immigration that was all of surprising, frustrating, stagnant, cringeworthy but in many areas full of opportunities. The biggest US Immigration story in the early part of the year was a reflection of the US and Global macro economy as many foreigners were laid off in all sectors and all sizes of companies. A good percentage of these people were forced to return to their home countries, unable like their US resident laid off counterparts to find work. Essentially the goal of hiring a foreigner as per the US Immigration language is to fill a role that they can’t find a suitable local to do.
