How Do You Paint A Formica Armoire?
While armoires are always in style, a Formica armoire just seems to scream, “I’m outdated!” Formica furniture was popular in the 1970s, but unless you have a retro-style decorating scheme in your home, Formica laminate can look old-fashioned and out of place. There is no need to throw away a good, sturdy armoire, however, as they are excellent storage units. A little effort and some paint can bring your piece into the 21st century. Remove the doors and drawers from your armoire. Unscrew the hinges and set them aside with the screws. Move your armoire, if possible, outdoors or into a well-ventilated work space. If you must do this in your home, open the windows and cover the floor and surrounding furnishings with drop cloths. Protect yourself with a dust mask and safety glasses.
