How Do You Paint Laminate Kitchen Cupboard Doors?

It is not really a good idea because the density of the laminate means you cannot get a primer to soak in and have to rely on an MDF type primer which tries to glue itself to the surface, but never really holds well because it lays on the top of the surface rather than soaking in. But if you insist, try to matt the entire laminate with a P120 or P80 grit abrasive paper, ideally use an electric palm sander. Then apply an MDF or ceramic primer like Prime-it plus. To get a decent one do an internet search and/or go to your local trade decorators merchants, rather than DIY places like B&Q/Homebase. The after priming, paint with normal wood undercoats and finish coats. Dulux Satinwood is a good finish and easy to use. Try to use a brush and a 4 inch foam roller, building up very thin coats for a decent finish.
