How Do You Play MPG Files On Windows Mobile?
After you’ve copied your favorite MPEG videos to your Windows Mobile device, you probably realized it can’t play them by default. The built-in Windows Media Player can only play certain formats, and MPEG isn’t one of them. Don’t worry, though: You can easily install a free, third-party program capable of playing your files. TCPMP is no longer in active development, but is considered the best free media player for Windows Mobile devices. Download TCPMP (free download; see Resources) to your desktop, being sure to download the proper version for your device (either Pocket PC for non-phone handhelds or Smartphone for phones.) Download the “ffmpeg” codec from the TCPMP website. This will allow TCPMP to play MPEG files. The codec comes in a ZIP flie with a version for almost every smartphone that exists; the codec you need is in the “Windows Mobile” folder. Be sure to find the proper version for your device. Run both executable files to install them to your device. You’ll be prompted to plu
