How Do You Play Music In Garageband Without A MIDI USB Keyboard?

0

You can play original music or trigger MIDI sounds in GarageBand without a musical keyboard! Open or create a GarageBand file. Create a software instrument track and set it to record. Under the Window menu bar, select Musical Typing. Out pops a little keyboard that corresponds to the keys on your computer. You can change the Octaves and Velocity of notes, along with a few other things by pressing on the letters on your keyboard. This is okay for triggering sound effects but not very exact for playing complicated tracks. It will get you by in a pinch though, on slow lead lines or sweeping synth noises, or more complicated drum kit programming. It’s just not able to keep up with rapid or exact playing like a USB MIDI keyboard can.
