• Pay attention to the time. Look at the hourly forecast. Even if it snows heavily till 3am, the plows will be able to remove the snow in time for the school buses to run. You want to see the heaviest snow around 5-7 am. • Listen to the hype about the storm. If a coming snow storm has a lot of hype surrounding it, making it seem like a very dangerous storm, then some schools may cancel early, no matter how much snow actually accumulates. • Ask your bus driver the day before. If the bus drivers think that it will be a snow day tomorrow, then it may be more likely that school will be canceled. • Check the current closings. If there are events or other schools already closing the night before in your area, then your chances are higher. • Go to bed prepared for school the next day. This means having all your homework done and packed away as it normally would be, but it also means you must mentally expect that there will be school the next day.
