How Do You Program Keyless KIA Remote?
Keyless entry is a standard option on many vehicles sold today. This option allows the owner to unlock and lock the doors to the vehicle while outside of the vehicle. Some keyless remotes can even open the trunk or rear gate. This innovation has changed the way we secure our vehicles. However, when the battery dies in the remote, the process of reprogramming the remotes can be confusing. One on the more complex procedures for programming remotes is on a Kia vehicle. Open the hood of the Kia vehicle. Locate the diagnostic plug for the vehicle and remove the cap. The plug will be located behind the battery on the driver side of the engine compartment. The cap for the plug says “Diagnostic” on it. Strip both ends of the 22 gauge wire to expose 1/2 inch of bare copper. Place one end of the wire in the number 6 port of the diagnostic connector.
