This not only results in the guitar looking old and worn, but it is also detrimental to the chrome parts themselves. Guitars require general and regular maintenance to keep them in good shape. Refinishing the chrome parts of a guitar is not difficult and should become a regular part of your guitar maintenance routine. Take the guitar strings off of the guitar. This is necessary to have access to the guitar bridge and saddle. Some guitars also have a chrome tailpiece that the strings are threaded through. This will also allow you to refinish the guitar frets. Apply a good chrome metal polish with steel wool. Brasso metal polish works well on chrome. Work on one section of the guitar at a time. Start with the tuners. Apply a generous amount of polish with steel wool. The steel wool helps the polish to penetrate and clean the
