How Do You Refurbish A Dust Mop With An Old Toilet Seat Cover?

0

If you find that both your dust mop and your fuzzy toilet seat cover need replacing at about the same time, you can save a few dollars by combining the two into a refurbished, better-than-new mop. It only takes a few minutes and some simple tools to retrofit the seat cover as a new mop head, and you may find that it’s the most handy mop you’ve ever used. Wash the toilet seat cover in the washing machine using regular laundry detergent. Dry it thoroughly in the dryer. Use the point of a sharp pair of scissors or a utility knife to make a series of small slits around the diameter of the toilet seat cover’s elastic. Space the slits about two inches apart. Each one only needs to be wide enough to thread your cord or shoelace through. Thread the cord or shoelace through the slits, alternating between threading from the top and the bottom of the seat cover. When the cord is threaded all the way around, adjust the ends so that there is at least three inches of cord sticking out on either side
