How Do You Remove A Ford Ranger 3.0 Oil Pan?
Replacing the oil pan on your Ford Ranger may be necessary if it has been damaged after running over a large object. The oil pan houses the oil for the engine and will not function properly if dented because the oil pick up is housed at the bottom of the pan, which distributes oil to all areas of the engine. To ensure that your engine has sufficient oil for lubrication and cooling, replace your oil pan as soon as you see any signs of damage. Jack up the Ford Ranger and place on jack stands. Place an oil drain pan below the oil pan. Remove the drain bolt from the oil pan with a ratchet and allow the oil to drain into the drain pan. Remove the bolts holding the oil pan to the engine block with a ratchet. Use an extension attached to the ratchet to facilitate removal. Remove any old RTV sealant that has stuck onto the engine block with a razor or sandpaper. Place RTV sealant along the entire perimeter of the new oil pan where it meets the engine block.
