When your sliding bathroom doors start to bind or not slide smoothly, you should perform some maintenance to repair the doors. There are few moving parts on a sliding bathroom glass door. The door panels use rollers to glide across the upper and lower track. Most repairs involve cleaning or replacing the rollers. You will need to remove the doors to repair rollers and inspect the door tracks. Performing minor repairs on your shower doors will prolong the life of your doors. Loosen the two screws that secure the latch to the inside of the shower door with a Phillips-head screwdriver if your door uses a latch. If the latch is damaged, take it to a home improvement center to purchase a new latch. Install the latch on the door loosely with the retaining screws. Go inside the shower and close the door. Wiggle the latch until it closes tightly on the other door panel. Tighten the latch securely with the Phillips-head screwdriver. Remove the screws that secure the guide rail to the lower door
