How Do You Replace Leaky Fuel Injectors?
Fuel injectors are responsible for providing fuel to the engine. The injectors are essentially comprised of just a nozzle and a valve that allows more or less fuel to enter the combustion chamber, depending on the size of the injector. Over time, the O-ring seals on the injectors may wear and start to leak fuel. If this happens, you’ll need to know how to replace leaky fuel injectors. Step 1 Locate the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box under the dash. Pull the fuse for the fuel pump. Step 2 Start the vehicle and let it run until it stalls. The fuel system is now depressurized. Step 3 Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. To do this, turn the retaining nut on the cable clamp counterclockwise until the clamp loosens enough for you to remove the clamp. Step 4 Remove the air cleaner assembly. This includes the air box and intake tubing.
