How Do You Replace The Door Mechanism In A Maytag Dishwasher?
Failure of a door switch inside the door latch will make the Maytag dishwasher inoperable. The switch will not close the electrical circuit to power the dishwasher motor. You will need to remove the door mechanism to access the door switch on the Maytag dishwasher. Purchase a replacement door switch from an appliance repair facility. You will need to provide them with the dishwasher model number. Once you have the replacement door switch, it is a matter of disassembling the door and accessing the door mechanism. Find the circuit breaker for the Maytag dishwasher in the home electrical panel and turn the circuit breaker off. Open the dishwasher door to the fully open position. The inner door panel secures to the outer panel using Torx screws. Remove the Torx screws along the sides and top of the inner door panel with a Torx driver.
