Sears garage door openers are equipped with a variety of remote capabilities, including keyless push-button remotes and wireless keypad remotes. Among the most popular brands, Craftsman allows you to program your remote opener to the door directly from the garage motor. You can conduct the programming sequence in just minutes and have your remote ready to use right away. Reprogramming is done in the same manner as the original programming. Enter your garage with your Sears Craftsman remote and press and hold the “Smart” button the back of your garage motor unit. You may need a ladder or to move your car to do this. Release the “Smart” button once the motor’s LED light starts blinking, and press and hold the “Open” button on your remote within 30 seconds. Hold the button until the main light on the motor flashes twice, then release. Wait 30 seconds for the LED light on the system to stop blinking, and the programming will be completed.
