True about the engine mounts failing and contributing to cracked manifold. Especially the Drivers side mount since it gets baked being so close to the exhaust manifold. Some years ago the DC replacement manifold included expansion elbows to increase durability, but the cracks are normally at the Y collector. Here’s example of the new design: http://www.1aauto.com/1A/ExhaustManifold… A header will not necessarily be more durable. But should provide more power at higher rpms while maintaining the low-end torque for which the 4.0 I6 is known. Here’s a header example: http://www.autopn.com/store/pc/viewprd.a… High-end headers (i.e. Thorley) are designed for high RPM output only, robbing the low RPM power. Many will simply have their cracked manifold welded, even though most welders will require t

it would be but if your manifold is cracking that easily then you might have a different problem and that problem might even crack a header so id do a more in depth search. look at if theres anything hitting the manifold and or if you car is running to hot. if the crack is in different spots on both manifolds then id just get a header that way if it keeps cracking you just send it back and theyll send you a new one for free haha. but if its in the same spot you maybe hitting something so check it out.
