The table saw is arguably the most important tool in a wood shop. It can also be one of the most dangerous. In order to do pretty much anything with wood you need to be able to safely use a table saw. Follow basic shop safety like wearing safety glasses, and removing loose and long clothing while tying up long hair. Always read the owners manual. Make sure you know where you are planning to put your hands and how you will proceed with the cut. Stand so that you aren’t in the rotational line of the saw. Occasionally table saws can kick back, and you won’t want to behind it if it does. Have a push stick handy to handle wood closer to the blade so you don’t have to use your fingers.
