• Front Static Salute: • Raise the right hand to the temple in a sweeping motion. Your upper arm should remain parallel to the ground, while your wrist should not bend. The palm of the hand should face outwards. • After 3 seconds the hand should be returned to the side. NOTE: The hand moves in a straight line down to your hip, taking the shortest possible path. • Left and Right Static Salutes: • Raise the hand as before, but turn the head to the left or right. Do NOT rotate the upper body. • After 5 seconds the salute is dropped, as before. • Front Salute on the March: • Halt. Pause for one second. • Do a static salute to the front. • Pause for 5 seconds, then salute to the front again. • When you have finished the second salute, perform an about turn and continue marching. • Left and right salutes on the march: • After the order is given, stop swinging your arms for one pace. Salute while looking sideways while continuing to march (DO NOT swing your free arm). Keep the salute up for 5
