How Do You Set Up And Light A Menorah?
Set up
When you set up your menorah, you want to make sure to have 8 candles in a row and then the 9th candle in the middle as the "Shamash" – the candle that will assist you in lighting the other candles.
It is traditionally placed on the left side of the front door.
Ritual
At the sunset of the first night of Hanukkah, take your first candle and place it on the menorah. Take the Shamash and light it. Use the Shamash to light the candle. On the first night of Hanukkah, you want to recite all three blessings.
Continue doing this all 8 nights. On every night except for the first night, recite the first two blessings. Remember to recite all 3 on the first.

Place one more candle in the special Shamash holder (traditionally in the center of the menorah, at a higher level than the other candles). Add one c
