How Do You Setup A Turtle Tank Filter?
You’ve got a poo factory on your hands under the guise of a “cute pet turtle” and you’re sick and tired of cleaning out his tank all the time. If only there was some kind of super powerful awesome filter that would preclude the need for tank cleaning. Well… this isn’t it, but it’s pretty darn close. Empty out your aquarium. Make sure your heroes in a half shell are safely put in a bucket throughout this process. Place the undergravel filter plates at the bottom of your tank. Attach a single plastic tube to the plate. Attach the intake tube from your canister filter to this plastic tube. This often requires some ingenuity. In my experience, a great way to make this connection is to cut a piece of foam so it’s pretty thin, wrap it around the canister intake tube and shove that into the undergravel filter tube.
