“Hi I’m David Dubail and I’m a personal trainer at DubailFitness.com. In this clip I’m going to show you how to strengthen knee muscles after knee replacement. You will need a leg extension. With this my favorite machine to do for that would be the leg extension. You want to make sure where the pivot point is is going to be right resting right where the foot meets the ankle. You want to have your knees parallel and it should meet the hinge joint right here. You want to sit straight so your back is flat with no gap. Then you want to bring it up, get a good contraction. This way we’re going to be strengthening everything around the knee and the quad muscle itself. Come up and then bring it all the way down. You want to start with as little weight as possible in the beginning to watch your form, make sure you’re getting full range of motion which is very important and you want to be shooting anywhere from 10 to 25 reps. This is David Dubail.
