Keyboards on a computer get very dirty over time. Dust may collect between the keys and even food can find its way in there if you eat near your computer. Luckily, there is a way to clean your keyboard without ruining it. Be sure to shut off your computer during this process. Cleaning your keyboard will allow your keyboard to function better and will correctly type all of the keys without pressing one harder than the other. First, tip your keyboard upside down and shake it gently. This will allow loose particles and crumbs to fall out. It is important not to shake your keyboard too hard. Next, wipe down the exterior with a damp rag. Make sure the rag isn’t dripping with water. Getting water between the keys may ruin your keyboard. Dab a little bit of rubbing alcohol onto a cotton ball. Use the cotton ball to gently clean each key one at a time. Allow the keyboard to thoroughly dry.
