How Do You Tour Phillips Exeter Academy?
Phillips Exeter Academy is located in Exeter, New Hampshire. It is a coed residential school with more than 1,000 students in grades 9 through 12. Founded in 1781 by John Phillips, the school promotes a love for learning and a desire to help others. Check out the Frederick R. Mayer Art Center. The Center was built in 1903 and was originally the Alumni Hall. Today it houses the school’s facilities for instruction in the arts, which include architecture, ceramics, sculpture, painting and photography. The Lamont Gallery hosts artwork from both students and nationally acclaimed artists. The Jan P. Mayer Auditorium provides an area and equipment for studying art history. Visit the Anthropology Museum and the Academy Bicentennial Quilt. The Academy Building is home to both of these campus attractions.
