Learn how to type without looking at the keyboard. When I first started typing I couldn’t help but look at the keys and was incredibly slow. Now I type over 100 words per minute and have near perfect accuracy. Becoming a fast typer takes time but the first step towards increasing your speed starts with not looking at the keyboard. Place your right hand on the keyboard, your thumbs should be resting gently against the space bar and your other four fingers should be on the starting keys. This means that your left hand fingers are on A, S, D, F. Starting with your pinky finger on the A key. Then you place your right hand on the same row but on the J, K, L, :/; key. There should be a little raised line on the F and J keys to remind you where to keep your left and right index fingers.
