How do you unlock a Motorola ROKR E1 (itunes phone) via software and usb datacable?
I have tried flashing a new firmware but this hasnt worked. For the Motorola ROKR E1, assuming you got it from Cingular Wireless, you can get the unlock code if you’ve had active service for 90 days and are in good standing. Call Tech Support, and tell them you’d like to unlock the phone, and they will process it. The best part of this is it’s FREE! As for a solution using a USB Cable, you would have to go to a third party and have them calculate the codes, which will cost money. Flashing the phone with different firmwares WILL NOT remove the lock, regardless of whether the firmware is locked or not. If the firmware is unlocked, and your phone is locked, the phone remains locked. If the firmware you get is locked, and the phone is unlocked, then you’ll have just locked the phone to the provider of the locked firmware. My suggestion: Contact Cingular and get it for free!
