Though not quite as thrilling as watching your favorite police or firefighting movie, there is something to be said for listening in on emergency calls as they happen. The best tool for this form of listening entertainment is a frequency scanner. Though hand-held versions are available, trunk-loading or home-mounted scanners can monitor the largest range of frequencies with superior sound quality. Plug in your scanner and turn it on.
