How Do You Use A Third Valve Slide On Trumpet?

• If you don’t already own a tuner, get one. • Tune your trumpet. • Play a D just below the staff, and adjust your third valve slide until it is in tune. • Whenever you play a note on 1-3, kick your third valve slide out to about that same position. • Play a C♯/D♭ just below the staff, and adjust your third valve slide until it is in tune. Whenever you play a note on 1-2-3, kick your third valve slide out to about that same position. Last edited: April 10, 2010 by Tryme2 Categories: Trumpet and Cornet Recent edits by: Dr.
