The Modern Language Association has developed rules for researching, writing and formatting academic papers and for citing sources. These rules, otherwise known as MLA style, are frequently used in colleges and in studies of the humanities and the liberal arts. MLA style helps ensure that scholarly standards are followed, that plagiarism is prevented and that papers are clear and well organized. Write your full name at the top of the page, left-aligned.
