How Do You Visit The Cabrillo National Monument?

See the remains of military defense systems, tide pools full of sea creatures and gaze out over the blue Pacific Ocean. Start your visit at the visitor’s center where you can watch films about the area, talk to park rangers and see exhibits on Cabrillo’s history. Learning more about the history and ecosystem of the park helps you to appreciate and enjoy it more. You can also gain valuable information about the timing of the tides and the best places to sight whales. Hike the two-mile Bayside Trail. You’ll get views of San Diego Bay and the city beyond. In addition, you’ll walk through one of the last remaining coastal sage scrub habitats in the world. During the spring, wildflowers bloom along the trail, adding to the beautiful landscape.
