How Do You Work A Computer Without A Mouse?
There are times when you simply can’t use a mouse with your computer. Perhaps the mouse is broken, or maybe you have an injury or a disability that makes it difficult to use a mouse. In these instances, it can help to turn on the keyboard’s mouse key functions. Hold down the “Alt,” “Shift,” and “Num Lock” keys on a PC. This will cause a a window to pop up. Click on “OK” if you want to accept the default settings, or change the settings and then click “OK.” Hold down any of the arrow keys on the number pad. You will see that the cursor moves as it would with the mouse. Holding down the “Ctrl” key at the same time makes it move faster, while holding down the “Shift” key makes it move slower. On a Mac computer, go to the “Universal Access System Preferences,” and under the “Mouse” tab, click “Mouse Keys.” Use the numeric keys (just like on the PC) to move the cursor.
