How Do You Write A Strong Introduction?
Often, the most challenging part of writing an academic paper or essay can be starting it. A strong introduction not only prepares the reader for the content that follows, but can also get your creative juices flowing and set the tone for the rest of the paper. Sit down in a comfortable, quiet place where you will not be easily distracted or disturbed. If writing a research paper, read over any relevant material and any notes you have prepared. On a sheet of paper, list the main topics you plan on covering. Each topic should later be covered in one or two paragraphs in the body of your paper. Decide on the overall objective of your paper and summarize this objective in one to two sentences. Now it’s time to write. Begin your introduction with an attention-grabbing sentence that will draw the reader in and make him want to learn more. Proceed by clearly stating the topics you will be covering in the paper.
