How does a Crankshaft Sensor Work?
A crankshaft sensor works by measuring reluctance. It is located next to the crankshaft. It watches the crankshaft in relation to the piston position. A magnetic field is created by the sensor when the crankshaft is rotating, which then creates an output signal of the alternating waveforms. This signal is sent to the engine management unit to calculate the speed of rotation. You can find more information at http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/crankshaft…
