How does a local angel group find investment opportunities?
Angel groups usually receive the majority of investment opportunities from their members. Each investor may be approached by a promising entrepreneur, who is then referred to the group or formally introduced by the investor as appropriate. Groups also receive a number of deals through word-of-mouth, generated through publicity efforts or relationships with business support and economic development organizations. For example the EDC, SBDC, and other local partners may refer some companies to the angel group. As a member of the WTC Angel Network, the angel group also can tap into the large number of companies the WTC and its partners work with across the state.
