We have a great respect for Mari Winsor and like to think of her as one of the inspirations behind 21st century Pilates. Chances are that if you are reading this FAQ then you may already be familiar with her work. The important concept is not to compare the coach with the tool. Even Mari Winsor acknowledges the prime benefits that a Pilates Reformer brings to Pilates exercises and would never downplay the value of resistance-based Pilates. Nowadays (unlike the 90s when Winsor’s studio began) everyone can have a reformer in their own home.
