How does acid rain affect the enviroment?
Acid rain will cause direct damage to architectural structures by corroding famous monuments.If acid rain falls on lakes and ponds,the water may become more acidic and if the pH value of the water in such waterbodies become less than 5 , most fish species may die.The aerosol of acid rain may cause respiratory disorders in man.If drinking water is drawn from such ponds and lakes then the aluminium leeching is likely to pose dangers.Aluminium toxicity is linked to kidney failure and bone softening.Copper leeched from water pipes containing acid rain water can cause diarrhoea in children. In short, acid rain is damaging to fresh water creatures,human life,building materials and plant life also.
