How does APGen compare to caching?
APGen is a product that implements scripted content generation. Caching is a computer science concept where computed results (data or content) are stored so future requests with identical parameters can use the stored results instead of repeating the computation. Though APGen is not equivalent to caching, APGen can be used with ASPCache for Web server output caching, and generating static pages with APGen automatically maximizes the benefits of distributed caches. In the Internet space, there are a number of different types of caching: Web server data caching; Web server output caching; edge caching; network caching (used with content distribution); proxy caching; and browser caching.
