It protects you by enforcing rules for a safe enviroment against caios. Its all established from the constitution so read it and look to it for answers when your done most of your questions shall be answered. Break it down from there Criminal, Case, Penal, etc. If you ever read the ten commandments out of the bible you would see that this country was founded on Gods ruling. If you understand the word of the lord you will understand the laws of the world.
